Devon County Council, 1838-1848, Tithe Mosaic, approximately 1838-1848 (Cartographic). SDV349431.
The earthworks do not correspond with any pit features in this location.

Two irregularly shaped pits are visible as earthworks.

Two irregularly shaped pits, circa 26 metres and 38 metres long, are visible as earthworks on visualisations derived from lidar data captured in 2007, along the steep south-east sloping edge of a combe.
The earthworks do not correspond with any pit features in this location on the mid-19th century Parish Tithe Map, or on later available historic maps.
They are interpreted as possible post-medieval or 19th century extractive pits that had passed out of use by late-19th century.
The earthworks are not visible on other available aerial imagery owing to the thick tree cover of Porsham Plantation.
