An earthwork pit, approximately 11 by 33 metres in size, is visible on images derived from lidar data captured in 2007. It appears to correlate with a wooded area depicted on the late-19th century Ordnance Survey map, in which a ‘Quarry’ is marked but not depicted. This probable post-medieval or 19th century extractive pit appears to be linked to the lead mine of Wheal Conquer by a trackway depicted on the historic mapping and visible as a curvilinear ditch on the lidar imagery.
