Name:Enclosure banks at the head of Deancombe Brook

Summary

A series of abandoned boundary banks and dry-stone walls on the island of unworked ground set amid the tinworks at the head of Deancombe Brook. An area of approximately 4.3 ha has been left untouched by the tinners' and it is within this area that the boundaries lie. The earth banks are approximately 0.5m high by 1m wide. Stone lines representing collapsed walls are visible also. The boundaries probably functioned as field walls before the tinworks isolated them but it is uncertain whether the continued to function beyond that point.

(01/08/2006) SX 5878 6829 A series of abandoned boundary banks and dry-stone walls on the island of unworked ground set amid the tinworks at the head of Deancombe Brook. An area of approximately 4.3 ha has been left untouched by the tinners' and it is within this area that the boundaries lie. The earth banks are approximately 0.5m high by 1m wide.
