Devon County Council, 1838-1848, Tithe Mosaic, approximately 1838-1848 (Cartographic). SDV349431.

Group of buildings shown at the road junction on the north side of the Exeter road. Recorded on the Harford Tithe Apportionment (Plot 314) as Toll House Garden.

Ordnance Survey, 1880-1899, First Edition Ordnance Survey 25 inch map (Cartographic). SDV336179.

Group of buildings marked as Tollbar Cottage.

Whitfield, 1900, Plymouth and Devonport, 366 (Monograph). SDV144215.

Unattributed, 1929, Advertisement (Unknown). SDV144216.

Copy of the 6 inch Ordnance Survey map made for auctioneer's advertisement at sale of Lukesland Estate in 1929.

Hankin, C. F., 1978, Toll House (Worksheet). SDV144217.

Toll House situated on the north side of the Exeter - Plymouth road, east of Ivybridge; on the western corner of the lane known as Cole Lane which leads to Stowford and Harford. Although the toll-house was not destroyed until c.1931, there does not appear to be a good description of the building. It is shown on James Green's plan, dated 1820, for the improvement of the Exeter to Plymouth turnpike. It seems certain, therefore, that the toll-house was put up by the first turnpike trust some time between 1758 and 1820.

Collings, A. G., 1993, Archaeological Assessment of SWW south east Plymouth Water Supply: Phase 1, 5 (Report - Assessment). SDV156512.
