Shallow irregular shaped earthwork depressions are visible on visualisations derived from lidar data captured in 2016 to the east of Blackbury Castle Camp. The earthworks are situated in an area recorded and depicted as moorland on historic maps, which developed into woodland across the 20th century. They are interpreted as possible post-medieval to 19th century peat cutting. Several well defined and deeper rectangular earthworks are also visible amongst the shallow earthworks, and may have an alternative origin e.g. saw pits.
