The plot is recorded as Brown Down Common.

The plot is depicted as rough pasture and called Lovehayne Common.

A subtle earthwork depression is visible on visualisations derived from lidar data captured in 2016 east of Wiscombe Grange. The depression does not correspond with any features depicted on historic maps. It is situated within a plot recorded as Brown Down Common on the Tithe Map and depicted as Lovehayne Common on the First and Second Edition OS maps. The earthwork is interpreted as a post-medieval extractive pit.
