Three curvilinear banks are visible on visualisations derived from lidar data captured in 2016 west of Sand. They are orientated approximately northwest to southeast, curving at the southern end and are parallel to each other. One of the banks corresponds to a field boundary depicted on the Tithe Map, where the plot is recorded as Sand Garden. The banks are overlain with orchard banks of post-medieval to 19th century origin, orientated in roughly the same direction (MDV131349). The banks are bisected by a later avenue of trees traversing east to west, leading to the house.
The banks are interpreted as former medieval field boundaries that may have formed part of a strip field system, and that, with the exception of one, passed out of use prior to circa 1840.
