A series of parallel earthwork banks are visible on images derived from lidar data captured in 2016. The banks are interpreted as planting ridges for orchard trees of post-medieval to 19th century origin, that passed out of use prior to the late-19th century.

Devon County Council, 1838-1848, Tithe Mosaic, approximately 1838-1848 (Cartographic). SDV349431.

The plots are recorded as orchards.

A series of parallel earthwork banks are visible.

A series of closely parallel earthwork banks are visible on images derived from lidar data captured in 2016. The banks are orientated approximately north to south and are bisected by ditches interpreted as later drainage. The banks are situated across two plots recorded as orchards on the Tithe Map. By the late-19th century both orchards have been removed and field boundaries removed.
The banks are interpreted as planting ridges for orchard trees of post-medieval to 19th century origin, and that passed out of use by the late-19th century.
