Devon County Council, 1838-1848, Tithe Mosaic, approximately 1838-1848 (Cartographic). SDV349431.

The banks correspond with recorded orchards plots.

The plots have been combined into one orchard plot.

A series of parallel banks are visible as earthworks on images derived from lidar data captured in 2016. The banks correspond with several plots recorded as orchards on the Tithe Map (Plots 202, 1564, 1567). The plots were combined by the late-19th century and continue to be an orchard until the mid-20th century.
The banks are interpreted as planting ridges for orchard trees of post-medieval to early 19th century origin, that passed out of use in the mid-20th century.
