The earthworks of the old marl pit are still depicted, with a small building situated within it.

A large depression is visible as a subtle earthwork on visualisations derived from lidar data captured in 2016. Part of the depression corresponds approximately with a small 'Old Marl Pit' depicted on the First Edition OS map, which is depicted as having a building within it by the Secon Edition OS map. The other part of the depression corresponds with a fenced off area of scrub. The depression is interpreted as a large marl pit of post-medieval to 19th century origin, which ceased extraction by the late-19th century.
