A curvilinear bank is visible as a subtle earthwork on visualisations derived from lidar data captured in 2016. The bank does not correspond with any features depicted on historic maps, but is parallel to adjacent curvilinear field boundaries depicted on the Tithe Map. The historic landscape is characterised as medieval enclosures based on strip fields. A post-medieval extractive pit appears to respect the path of the bank suggesting it may have been in situ at the time of extraction (MDV117114). Subtle earthwork ridges on the same orientation are also visible across the field, which may be medieval ridge and furrow (MDV131562)
The bank is interpreted as a medieval field boundary, that may have formed part of a strip field system, and that passed out of use prior to circa 1840.
