Two large earthwork depressions are visible on images derived from lidar data captured in 2016. The western earthwork corresponds approximately with a curving boundary of a plot recorded as an orchard on the Tithe Map (depending upon the accuracy of the map), and is irregular in shape, circa 35m by 40m. This earthwork is visible on modern aerial photographs dating to 2010. The eastern earthwork does not correspond with any features and is oval shaped, circa 40m by 70m. The earthwork depressions are interpreted as post-medieval extractive pits, that ceased extraction prior to circa 1840.
