Full description
Ordnance Survey Archaeology Division, 1979, SX56SE107 (Ordnance Survey Archaeology Division Card). SDV145985.
(17/04/1979) Centred at SX 59056225 at the sheltered base of a south-west slope at 248.0m. O.D. is an open settlement of eight huts, all of Type 2 and in poor condition. (Type site: SX 56 NE 71). All have levelled interiors, with entrances mostly on the south. The internal diameters vary from 4.0m. to 6.5m. with an average of 5.5m. Their walling has an average thickness of 1.2m. and height of 0.6m. No associated field system is visible.

Enclosure within Settlement 'A' at 'Parkland enclosures' with eight associated hut circles. Two hut circles are within the enclosure, one is on the eastern corner and five are situated to the south of the enclosure.

This site was considered for designation as a Scheduled Ancient Monument during the Monument Protection Programme. The programme ended before the entire list of sites was successfully scheduled so this is included on a local list of Nationally Important Sites.
