Irregular earthwork pits are visible on images derived from lidar data captured in 2016, and are interpreted as the remains of post-medieval or 19th century extractive pits. A curvilinear ditch leading south from this makes an abrupt eastwards turn to terminate at an Old Clay Pit depicted on the historic maps, and may be a trackway linking the two.
