Full description
Devon County Council, 1838-1848, Tithe Mosaic, approximately 1838-1848 (Cartographic). SDV349431.
The depressions correspond with an irregular plot recorded as a coppice (Plot 2230).

The plot is recorded as a woodland.

Two large irregular shaped earthwork depressions are visible on images derived from lidar data captured in 2016. The earthworks correspond with a large irregular plot recorded as 'North Ground Coppice' on the Tithe Map and as a woodland thereafter. The depressions are interpreted as a extractive pits of post-medieval origin, that passed out of use prior to circa 1840.
