Full description

South West Heritage Trust, 1838-1848, Digitised Tithe Maps and Transcribed Apportionments (Cartographic). SDV359954.

The banks do not correspond with any depicted features, but are parallel to adjacent depicted field boundaries.

Two curvilinear banks are visible.

Two approximately east to west orientated curvilinear banks are visible as earthworks on images derived from lidar data captured in 2016. The banks are circa 20m apart and between 140m and 160m in length. The banks do not correspond with any features depicted on historic maps, but are parallel with adjacent depicted field boundaries. The banks are interpreted as medieval field boundaries that may have formed part of a strip field system, and that passed out of use prior to circa 1840.
