A series of irregular shallow earthwork cut features are visible on images derived from lidar data captured in 2016. The earthworks extend from a road now called Sandpit Hill and first depicted as a trackway on the First Edition OS map. The superficial geology is recorded as clay, silt, sand and gravel. A field is recorded as Sandpit Hill to the east (MDV116139) and a gravel pit is recorded adjacent (MDV116142) based on the First and Second Edition OS maps. The earthworks are visible within scrub on aerial photographs dating to the 1940s. They are interpreted as extractive pits, probably for sand or gravel, of post-medieval to mid-20th century origin.
