HER Number:MDV131700
Name:Repositioned gatepost by entrance to churchyard, Walkhampton

Summary

A slotted gatepost stands on one side of a fairly new gateway in the graveyard wall; it is adjacent to the main entrance into St Marys church. It clearly has been relocated to this position from elsewhere and two sets of iron gate hangers on the exposed faces testify to reuse.
It is a roughly cut granite pillar which measures 1.3m high and 0.35m by 0.3m. Four well-defined rectangular slots occur in a line on the east face.
