A series of parallel curvilinear banks are visible as earthworks on images derived from lidar data captured in 2016. The banks are situated in the eastern half of a plot recorded as 'Ashlands Orchard' in the Tithe Survey. The banks in the north part are orientated east to west and the banks in the south part are north-west to south-east. They are each circa 4m apart. The plot is depicted as an orchard on subsequent maps until the mid-20th century. The banks are interpreted as planting ridges for orchard trees of post-medieval to 19th century origin, that passed out of use in the mid-20th century.
The western half of the orchard plot comprises wide north-east to south-west orientated curvilinear banks circa 9m apart crossed by north-west to south-east orientated ditches. It is possible these are also orchard banks impacted by later drainage, but due to their abnormal width they have not been included within the monument polygon.
