A series of closely parallel east to west orientated linear banks are visible as earthworks on images derived from lidar data captured in 2016 and visible on aerial photographs dating to the 1940s. The banks are circa 4-5m apart and correspond with the northern part of a plot recorded as 'Great Orchard' in the Tithe Survey and depicted as orchard until the mid to late 20th century. The banks appear to be truncated by a possible trackway interpreted as having passed out of use prior to circa 1840 (MDV131766) and it is possible the banks and this part of the plot, pre-date the rest of the orchard.
The banks are interpreted as planting ridges for orchard trees of post-medieval to 19th century origin, that passed out of use in the mid to late 20th century.
