Full description
South West Heritage Trust, 1838-1848, Digitised Tithe Maps and Transcribed Apportionments (Cartographic). SDV359954.
Both earthworks are situated within recorded garden plots. The western earthwork corresponds to a small enclosure within the plot.

Two earthwork depressions are visible on images derived from lidar data captured in 2016. The western depression is rectangular in shape and circa 50m by 25m. The eastern depression is oval in shape and circa 45m by 25m. Both are situated in recorded garden plots on the Tithe Map, with the western depression corresponding to a small enclosure within the plot. A road is depicted curving around the north of the western earthwork, and south of the eastern. The western is situated beneath a plantation by the First Edition OS map. A sand pit is recorded nearby to the west and both earthworks are situated on the edges of clay, silt, sand and gravel deposits. The earthwork depressions are interpreted as extractive pits of post-medieval to 19th century origin.
