The depression corresponds with two plots of woodland (Plots 394 and 396).

The depression corresponds partially with depicted earthworks.

An elongated curvilinear earthwork depression circa 160m in length and 25m in width is visible on images derived from lidar data captured in 2016. It corresponds with two plots of woodland on the Tithe Map, and partially with earthworks depicted on the First and Second Edition OS maps. The area is depicted as woodland and scrub thereafter. The depression is interpreted as an extractive pit of post-medieval to 19th century origin, that ceased extraction prior to circa 1840.
