An 'Old Sand Pit' is depicted alongside the road.

An elongated earthwork depression is visible.

An elongated earthwork depression circa 60m by 15m is visible on images derived from lidar data captured in 2016. The depression corresponds with an 'Old Sand Pit' depicted on the First and Second Edition OS maps. The depressions are interpreted as a sand pit of post-medieval to 19th century origin, that passed out of use by the end of the 19th century.
