Full description

The plot is recorded as 'Goose Moor Orchard' (Plot 2).

The plot boundaries have altered since the Tithe Map, however the banks continue to be situated within an orchard plot.

A series of closely parallel north to south orientated linear banks circa 5m apart are visible on images derived from lidar data captured in 2016. They are situated within the centre of a plot recorded as 'Goose Moor Orchard' in the Tithe Survey, and within the north part of a depicted orchard on the First and Second Edition OS maps. The orchard appears to have passed out of use by the mid-20th century. The banks are interpreted as planting ridges for orchard trees of post-medieval to 19th century origin, that passed out of use by the mid-20th century.
