The banks are situated in the south part of a plot recorded as 'New Orchard' (Plot 1516).

A series of closely parallel north-east to south-west orientated linear banks circa 6m apart are visible as earthworks on lidar data captured in 2016. The banks are situated within part of a plot recorded as 'New Orchard' in the Tithe Survey, although with no orchard trees depicted in that part. By the First Edition OS map, the whole plot is depicted as an orchard and continues to be depicted as an orchard until the mid-20th century. The banks are interpreted as planting ridges for orchard trees of mid-19th century origin, that passed out of use by the mid-20th century.
