Probert, S. + Fletcher, M. + Newman, P., 1998, Willsworthy Training Area, Peter Tavy, Devon: An Archaeological survey by the Royal Commission on the Historical Monuments of England (Report - Survey). SDV350638.

(27/08/1998) SX 55088424. A ruinous Range Warden's lookout post and the site of a former Range Warning Flagpole occupy the summit of Hare Tor. The lookout lies on the NE side of the tor and consists of three coursed boulder walls which remain up to 1.4m high. The NE side was probably left open and the interior measures 1.8m square. The post was originally designed to house lookouts posted to stop animals and walkers from straying onto the Willsworthy firing ranges. The date of construction is unknown but similar features at Doe Tor and Standon Hill are thought to date to the 1920's.
Immediately W of the lookout are a cluster of small concrete blocks, some containing iron rings; these are all that remains of a former range warning flagpole. The date of this feature is also unknown.
