HER Number:MDV132019
Name:Rectangular structure, Walla Brook

Summary

A ruined rectangular structure occupies a gulley forming part of the streamworking remains on the left bank of the River Lyd (SX 58 SW 77). The single-roomed structure is oriented E to W and measures 6.3m by 3.7m internally and possesses an entrance in the SW corner of the E end. Its sides are composed of coursed boulder revetments up to 1.1m high with freestanding walls up to 0.9m high at the ends. No internal detail is apparent. The size and construction of this former building suggest that it is more likely associated with the nearby Doe Tor Farm than the tinworkings.
