The plot is recorded as 'Pit Orchard Field' (Plot 1445).

A depicted field boundary curves around the north side of the earthwork.

An oval shaped earthwork depression circa 40m by 30m is visible on images derived from lidar data captured in 2016. It is situated within a plot recorded as 'Pit Orchard Field' on the Tithe Map. A field boundary depicted to the north appears to curve around the earthwork. The depression is interpreted as a post-medieval extractive pit, that ceased extraction prior to circa 1840 and after which an orchard was established.
