The plot is recorded as 'Barn Meadow', under watered meadow cultivation.

Several narrow north to south orientated curvilinear ditches are visible on images derived from lidar data captured in 2016. They correspond approximately with the contours of the west-south-west facing slope and appear to extend from a stream to the north-east. The ditches are situated within a plot recorded as under 'watered meadow' cultivation in the Tithe Survey. The ditches are faintly visible on aerial photographs dating from the 1940s. They are interpreted as possible gutters of a 19th to early 20th century catch meadow system.
Catch meadows abstracted from springs or streams and redistributed it along channels or gutters to irrigate combe slopes rather than valley floors. Originating in the medieval period they were in widespread use in Devon in the 19th and early 20th centuries.
