Full description

Probert, S. A. J. + Newman, P., 1997, Holne Moor, Dartmoor, Devonshire. A Landscape Survey by the Royal Commission on the Historical Monuments of England (Report - Survey). SDV173671.

(06/01/1997) SX 68646921. A solitary pine post 3.8m high is positioned on the moderate E flank of Holne Lee. It appears to have been deliberately situated and is not a tree in situ. A similar post is embedded in a field wall to the W and both appear to have formed part of an anti-glider installation on this exposed hillside. Similar posts are visible on the E flank of Hamel Down and Thornworthy Down.
