Name:Tinners hut on western edge of Fox Tor Girt streamworks

Summary

Remains of a Medieval or later tinner's hut situated on the western edge of Fox Tor Girt streamworks. An archaeological survey in 1995 recorded a rectangular structure measuring 5.4 metres by 3 metres, with walls surviving to a maximum height of 0.7 metres. An entrance was recorded on the east side and the interior was strewn with rubble, including a fallen lintel.

(12/09/1995) Ruined tinners building on the W edge of Fox Tor Girt streamworks (Monument HOB UID 1064050) at SX 62676944. The rectangular structure recorded by Butler (1993), measures 5.4m north to south by 3m and has walls of 3-4 courses of moorstone, 0.7m high and 1m wide. There is an entrance on the east side and the interior is strewn with rubble, including a fallen lintel in the south end.
