Hemery, E., 1983, High Dartmoor, 274 (Monograph). SDV249702.
"…on the right bank stands a boulder; to this was affixed, in 1938...a bronze plaque as a memorial to William Crossing, author of the unique Guide To Dartmoor: at the same time, the post-box beneath the boulder was inaugerated".
