Summary
Earthworks of medieval or later tin pits clustered on the crest of Down Ridge. An archaeological field survey in 1996 recorded that the pits ranged from 3 metres to 5 metres in diameter, with upcast on the south and east sides.

Full description
Royal Commission for the Historical Monuments of England, 1993-1998, Dartmoor Royal Forest Project, S. Probert (Report - Survey). SDV346608.
(10/01/1996) Centred SX 65517141. A cluster of tin pits form an amorphous pattern around the stone cross (SX 67 SE 63) on the crest of Down Ridge. The pits are all small, in the range of 3.0 to 5.0m in diameter, with upcast on the south and east sides.
