Full description
South West Heritage Trust, 1838-1848, Digitised Tithe Maps and Transcribed Apportionments, Plot 884 (Cartographic). SDV359954.
Lower Camscot. Small house at south-eastern edge of farm, adjoined on west side by larger agricultural buildings. Additional buildings on east and northern farm boundaries, as well as large structure at western end of farm.

Lower Campscott. Changes to the farm shown; western building is gone, eastern boundary buildings altered/replaced and further building added on northern boundary.

Campscott is recorded as 'Kampescoth' (1242), 'Cambescote' (1326), 'Cammescote' (1346) and 'Camescote' (1371). May be the same Camme whose son Bristric held the manor of Bugford in East Devon in 1086.
