Full description
Newman, P., 2005, Brookwood and Wheal Emma Copper Mines, Buckfastleigh, Devon: An Archaeological Survey, Figure 2 (Report - Survey). SDV359199.
(30/04/2005) Adit and spoil heap at SX 7114 6736 within Brook Wood, possibly associated with an undeveloped mine, recorded in the 1840s called Wheal Treeby.
The adit was driven south into the hillside and may still be entered though it has a safety grill covering the portal. A conical spoil heap of 11m diameter at base on the north side probably represents all the material removed and suggest the adit was not driven more than about 20m or so.
