Full description
Newman, P., 2005, Brookwood and Wheal Emma Copper Mines, Buckfastleigh, Devon: An Archaeological Survey, Figure 2 (Report - Survey). SDV359199.
(30/04/2005) Adit and spoil heap (SX 7082 674) in Brook Wood which may be associated with a period of copper exploration in the 1840s and 50s. The adit, now completely blocked, was driven approximately north west, just above stream level on the north side of one of the River Mardle's southern tributaries. A linear spoil dump of approximately 25m long extends to the north east parallel with the stream.
