Full description

Enclosure (Pound B) and hut circles, Woolholes. This pound is very fragmentary and indistinct . It appears to touch pound A and has been built over by a cornditch wall. It may have been robbed for the building of this wall. The enclosure measures 58.0 meters (north-south) and 63.0 meters (east-west). The walls are 0.25 meters high or less, about 1.0 meter wide, overgrown with bracken and bilberry as is the interior of the pound.

Enclosure faintly seen on National Monuments Record 1976 and Royal Air Force 1946 aerial photographs, cut by cornditch SX66SE/414, with one possible incorporated hut circle. Appears to cut or join another enclosure SX66SE/.

Enclosure 'A' at 'Dockwell Ridge Enclosures'. This enclosure has a single Hut Circle '1' of 4.2 metres diameter on the north-east perimeter, and another Hut Circle '2' with an adjoining annex just outside of the walls, also to the north-east.

This site was considered for designation as a Scheduled Ancient Monument during the Monument Protection Programme. The programme ended before the entire list of sites was successfully scheduled so this is included on a local list of Nationally Important Sites.
