Full description

Meaton, C. + Valentin, J., 2013, Matford Land, Southwest of Exeter, Devon: Results of an Archaeological Trench Evaluation (Report - Evaluation). SDV352711.

A group of five post holes were recorded in Trench 16 during an archaeological trench evaluation on Matford Land to the south-west of Exeter. The post holes (F1616, F1622, F1624, F1630 and F1632) were 300-400mm in diameter and up to 300mm deep. There was no obvious pattern to their arrangement. A probable pebble rubbing stone was found in Pit F1616. This is not closely datable typologically and could date from the Bronze Age through to the early medieval period.
