(04/08/1977) AT SX 66986063 on the south west facing slopes of Corringdon Ball, above Newland's Brakes, and south east of SX 66 SE 47 are two hut circles.
The north-western example is a Type 2 hut, with levelled interior; its internal diameter is 10.3m. and its wall, double faced is 1.1m. thick. The other hut is very ruinous but recognisable by its levelled interior and the footings of the wall, its type cannot be determined, internal diameter approximately 7.5m. (Type site: SX 56 NE 71).
Found during field investigation.

This stone hut circle is the north-western of two on the southern slope of Corringdon Ball, some 30 metres north of Corringdon Leat. These hut circles form part of a concentration of occupation evidence surviving in the area. This hut circle is 14 metres in diameter and has double faced walls 1.5 metres in thickness and 1 metre in height, with an entrance to the south-west.
