Glanville, P., 07/12/1990, Cairn on Dockwell Ridge (Worksheet). SDV163202.
Site visit 7th December 2012. A number of stones set tangentially to the cairn forming possible multiple stone circles.

(30/06/1977) SX 68706437. Situated on the flat summit of Dockwell Ridge at approximately 345m. O.D. is a turf-covered cairn measuring 12.3m. in diameter and 0.6m. in height, in a ruinous state. A few stones of a possible retaining circle are in site.
Found during field investigation.
Surveyed at 1:10 000 on PFD.

Site visit May 1978. Barrow on Dockwell Ridge. This barrow built of granite, overgrown by turf and bilberry lies almost due south of the boundary stone at SX68656455 at roughly 200 metres distance, on Dockwell Ridge. It was first observed by Mr. J. Turner. There are no signs of a surrounding ditch. It is less gorse-covered than the surrounding land, which is densely overgrown by it. Cairn measures 12.0 metres in diameter, height 0.5 metres.

Cairn at SX68706437 of 12.5 metres by 0.6 metres high built on the crest of the Dockwell Ridge facing Gripper's Hill. Its pitted surface revealing several concentric rings of small slabs.

This site was considered for designation as a Scheduled Ancient Monument during the Monument Protection Programme. The programme ended before the entire list of sites was successfully scheduled so this is included on a local list of Nationally Important Sites.
