Summary

Hut Circle 'C' of 6.5 metres diameter with walls 1.6 metres wide by 0.9 metres high in settlement south-west of White Ridge. One of a group of six huts excavated by the Dartmoor Exploration Committee in 1896 revealing several cooking stones, flint tools and some fragments of coarse pottery, as well as two small worked stones. At SX 64258181 is a later structure (probably a hut) built into the south-western part of this hut. It measures 3.3 metres in diameter, with a rubble wall 1.1 metres wide, 0.3 metres high

Baring Gould, S., 1896, Third Report of the Dartmoor Exploration Committee, 183 (Article in Serial). SDV260468.

Four more huts excavated at White Ridge. Hut C; (diameter 6.4m, wall thickness 686mm). Entrance to the south. An internal wall runs from the left side of the entrance about 4m, then turns at right angles for about 1m. This hut yielded fragments of coarse pottery, flint flakes; a few cooking stones, and two rudely worked stones, not millstones.

(28/02/1950) Hut C: diameter 7m. Double walled type. Height of walling 0.5m. Well-defined entrance to south, one door-jamb still standing.

(24/10/1997) At SX 64258181. Hut circle forming part of an enclosed stone hut circle settlement in Great Stannon newtake.
At SX 64258181. Hut 144221. Diameter 6.5m. Internal area 33.16m. Double orthostat wall 1.6m wide, 0.9m high. Door faces 200 degrees and is indicated by an upright on the WNW and a fallen flanking stone on the ese which has slipped into the passage. Grass. Excavated by dec in 1896 revealing several cooking stones, flint tools and some fragments of coarse pottery, as well as two small worked stones.
At SX 64258181. Diameter 3.3m. Internal area 8.54m. Rubble wall 1.1m wide, 0.3m high. This is a latter structure (probably a hut) built into the south-western part of hut 144221.

Hut Circle '1' of 6.5 metres diameter at the junction of two boundaries at the 'White Ridge South-west 3' settlement. Excavations in 1896 produced several cooking stones, flint flakes and some fragments of coarse pottery as well as two small worked stones. A curved wall can be seen crossing the interior and a jamb stone stands at the south-western entrance.
