Summary

Remains of two hut circles in north-east corner of Broad Down. The northern one has been disturbed and now measures 7.4 metres by 5.7 metres with walls to a height of 0.2 metres high. The other measures 3.5 metres by 4.3 metres and is 0.5 metres high.

(15/01/1996) Two hut circles, centred at SX 6369 8125, lie on the southern edge of a ledge above the right bank of the East Dart River. The hut to the north has been disturbed, probably by stone-robbing for material for the newtake wall nearby. The hut measures 7.4m N-S, 5.7m E-W, with walls 0.9m wide and 0.2m high. There is no obvious entrance. The hut circle to the south measures 3.5m N-S and 4.3m E-W, with walls 0.9m wide, 0.5m high and a possible entrance to the east.
