[Sited from Hemery's description and Ordnance Survey 1:10560 1963 map to general area SX 745766]. Several green paths lie on the downs near Saddle Tor; beside one leading to Hay Tor stands a parish bond-stone marked 'I-B' (Ilsington-Bovey). A pear shaped excavation north of the bond-stone may have been a medieval tinner's reservoir, so pre-dating the Haytor quarries (citing Hemery, 1983, 699).
(30/03/1999) Not found by RCHME at this location.
