Name:Cornditch on Pinchaford Ball, Ilsington

Summary

A probable cornditch wall running W to E across the N flank of the Pinchaford Ball spur. The ditch is over 1m deep with a clearly defined linear bank on the N side. The boundary extends between the modern embankment of the Haytor car park to an E to W reave at SX 7634 765 where the cornditch terminates but the boundary continues in the form of a reave. The enclosure which may have been intended to include sections of adapted reave system, may never have been completed.

(20/03/1999) Centred SX 7616 7663. A probable cornditch wall running W to E across the N flank of Pinchaford ball. The ditch is over 1m deep with a clearly defined linear bank on the N side. The boundary extends between the modern embankment of the Haytor car park to an E to W reave at SX 7634 765 where the cornditch terminates but the boundary continues in the form of a reave. The enclosure which may have been intended to include sections of adapted reave system, may never have been completed.
