A breakwater is marked on Ordnance Survey mapping from 1904. it is visible on recent aerial photographs, taken between 2006 and 2013, as rubble and aligned perpendicular to seawall. Other similar breakwaters are also visible, but are not marked on early Ordnance Survey mapping.
