Four Holy Wells are mentioned as being at Moretonhampstead, (SX 7586); St Anne's Well, Jacob's Well, Job's Well and Joseph's Well.

In earlier writing Thornton locates a St Andrew's Well "hard by" Job's Well with Jacob's Well "across the Street". Holy Well is also mentioned as being associated.

Of the four holy wells in Moretonhampstead, two are in existence. Jacob's Well is on the Exeter road below Heathercrest, the other well is in Lime Street opposite Kinmen Down on the north side. The remaining wells stood in Pound Street opposite the fire station, and at Gabs timber works on Court Street (citing oral Information from Mr Friend, chemist in Moretonhampstead, 1982).

Job's Well, Moretonhampstead, c. SX 750 859
This well was in a wall of the sawmills on Court St which were known as Gales timber mill, but were also run by Dartington Timber (recorded as being established around the time of World War I). This well is shown on the 1st edition OS map where the marker is. The well is not on subsequent editions of OS maps. It has been destroyed by development.
Moretonhampstead History Society credited for identifying the locations of wells in this area.
