Full description

Devon County Council, 1838-1848, Tithe Mosaic, approximately 1838-1848 (Cartographic). SDV349431.

No structures are depicted in this exact location.

Ordnance Survey, 1880-1899, First Edition Ordnance 25 inch map (Cartographic). SDV336179.

Dunsland Cottage is marked and depicted. Three rectilinear buildings and a well are depicted, with a path leading east from one of the buildings to join the track/routeway. The buildings are within small infield enclosures, presumably forming a farmstead.

French, K. + French, C., 1957, Devonshire Plasterwork (Article in Serial). SDV4676.

Both references to Dunsland in this article (ceiling and overmantel dated 1630; ceiling dated to c.1690), are likely to relate to the now demolished Dunsland House (MDV395), since Dunsland Cottage appears to post-date the mid-19th century.

Ordnance Survey, 2023, Mastermap 2023 (Cartographic). SDV365227.

The building in this location has a larger footprint and is marked as 'Westcott Cottage'.
