HER Number:MDV133049
Name:Hilltop enclosure south of Knowle, Sourton

Summary

Curvilinear earthwork banks are visible as earthworks on images derived from the Environment Agency's National Lidar Project data, and as pale cropmarks on aerial photographs captured in 2010. They enclose the top of the hill south of Knowle, and are interpreted as a later prehistoric hilltop enclosure or small hillfort. Curvilinear banks are visible in the fields around the enclosure, but these are typical of medieval field boundaries.
