Berry, N. + Simmonds, T., 1996, An Archaeological Survey of Boro Wood (SX7571), Erme Wood (SX6357), Wistmans Wood (SX6177) and Newpark Waste (SX5961), 39, NW58 (Report - Survey). SDV360518.

SX 59656172 Field System. Large area with series of stone walls of variable condition, with remains of other scarps and banks at west end of Rook Wood. Area is very rocky with boulders strewn on south-west facing slopes, amongst scrubby oak coppice. The wall remains appear to abut the eastern field boundaries, which although of obviously later construction, probably follow prehistoric alignments and patterns.
(a) Short section of low but well defined stone wall (north-east by south-west) between two existing field boundaries.
(b) Wall, variable condition and height, but mostly well defined, straggling along contour. Butts existing field wall at north-western end, and wall (c) at south-east.
(c) Possible enclosure wall, with entrance at (d). Appears to abut existing boundary.
