Dartmoor National Park boundary stone a few metres west of the junction with the road to the Dartmoor Lodge against the wall on the south-west side of the road. This is an older stone with an oval recess. One of a group of at least 40 marking the boundary of the park.
One of a group of boundary plaques (mostly mounted on stones) that mark the boundary of the Dartmoor National Park. Original metal plate signs mounted on poles installed after the designation of the National Park in 1951 were replaced by this style of signage. Investigation in 2021 recorded 41 signs currently in place, with additional removed markers and commemorative stones also noted.
Ashburton 2 boundary stone at SX7495969311. Near Peartree Cross. A few metres west of the junction with the road to Dartmoor Lodge. On the south-west side of the road against the wall. This is an older stone of Type 1. A tombstone shaped granite bollard with a rounded top and an oval recess inscribed on three lines Dartmoor National Park although this is barely visible.
